Delicious Indian dishes like butter chicken and saffron rice left thousands of Egyptians and other foreigners craving for more as India participated in an International Food Festival held here.
India was among ten countries that took part in the annual cuisine festival which provided an international menu with delicacies from across the world and with chefs showing their skills.
The sample of Indian dishes won the hearts of the Egyptians and over 1,000 members of the international community who attended the glittering festival to the accompaniment of fire works, music and folklore presentation.

"Indian cuisine represents the diversity of the nation and highlights local ingredients, tastes, customs and seasons," Ambassador of India to Egypt Sanjay Bhattacharyya said during the Second Cuisine International Food Festival event held at Dusit Thani Hotel here.
"Indian food is prepared from the heart and it connects the people of India with those who taste it. The cuisine festival is over but it has left Cairo with a craving for more Indian delicacies," the Ambassador said.
The festival organised by Al Ahram newspaper last Saturday.
The Indian contingent was represented by Chefs Vikas Anand and Baijanath from Ashok Hotel in New Delhi. The menu included Amritsari Fish as appetizer, butter chicken with saffron rice as main course and gulab jamun as dessert.
The chefs worked hard to provide authentic tastes and flavour while providing a slight twist to meet local expectations.
The guests with their "Namaste" and "Shukriya" kept coming back for more food and photographs and the Chefs kept obliging them.
"The food festival brings the cultures together," Galal Saeed, Governor of Cairo said during the event.
