A group of 25 young Indian entrepreneurs has arrived in Pakistan to explore business and investment opportunities besides striving to bring the youth of the two countries closer.

The group of 25 entrepreneurs arrived at the Wagah border yesterday dressed in white symbolising peace amid continued tensions at the border.

The Indian delegates are here to attend the Pak-India Young Entrepreneurs Bilateral Summit being organised by the Young Entrepreneurs Forum (YEF) of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCI) in partnership with Young Indians (YI) and Commonwealth Asia Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAAYE) .

"It is a great opportunity to know each other and bring the youth of the two countries closer besides looking at business opportunities. There are 25 participants from India. They will meet with Pakistani young entrepreneurs and get a feel of what we are doing here," Shaban Khalid, the young President of ICCI, told PTI.

The Indian delegation, who are here till October 31, will interact with the Lahore University of Management Sciences, Arfa Karim Software Technology Park and Pakistan Fashion Design Council.

There will also be a day-long Indo-Pak Young Entrepreneurs Summit here, followed by a meeting with young students at the ROOTS School, Islamabad, besides preparing of a business case study by analysing the success story of Pakistan's Bahria Town.

"The focus area is IT, education and fashion. They will also visit the Bahria Town since it has become a role model in itself," Fawab Abbasi, partner at one of Pakistan's leading architect firm Suhail and Fawad architects said.

Last year the summit was held in Mumbai, which was hosted by the Yong Indians (YI) and a 15-member delegation represented Pakistan under the banner of YEF.

The theme of the visit is to get the youth of both nations to come together to share common values and look at ways and means to strengthen personal and business ties to realise immense potential of India and Pakistan working together.

The bilateral summit aims to bring down the barriers between the youth, change perceptions, increase people-to-people interaction and provide opportunities to increase the flow of trade and business.

The Indian delegation is led by Rahul Mirchandani of Aries Agro Limited, also founder-president of CAAYE.
