India's Ambassador to Egypt Navdeep Suri today congratulated Muslims on Eid, a religious feast to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

"Eid Mubarak and a big hug to all our friends. On this joyous occasion, let's just pray for peace," Suri tweeted.

Egypt has extended the official holiday period for Eid by an extra day.

Muslims in India will celebrate Eid tomorrow. Muslims use a lunar calendar and a moon-sighting methodology that can lead to the month of fasting ending on different days.
