Indian fisherman rescued by Bangladeshi boatmen

Bangladeshi boatmen today rescued alive another Indian fisherman from near the coastlines of the southeastern port city of Chittagong, a navy spokesman said.

"The batmen rescued him as was floating with the help of a (petroleum) barrel," the spokesman said.

The official said the rescued 30-year-old Indian was identified as Hari Kamol Das who hailed from kailash Nagar of Dakkhin Chabbish Pargona district of West Bengal.

Earlier reports from Kolkata said that five fishermen from the Sundarbans in West Bengal, who went missing following the August 8 cyclonic storm and heavy rains in deep sea, have been found dead while 15 of them were rescued in a joint operation by the Indian Coast Guard and Bangladeshi Navy.
 

Another 10 are still missing in the Bay of Bengal operations are on for rescuing them, officials said.
