In the first sports film in past two decades in Tollywood, Parambrata Chatterjee-directed Lorai features a host of real life footballers.

"Lorai is the offshoot of my passion for football. And yes, now I am egging on Atletico Kolkata, " Parambrata, having shot scenes with Prosenjit Chatterjee, in the role of a coach Sebastian Paes and upcoming big screen actor Indrashis Lahiri, told PTI here.

To add the turf touch to the fictional drama, inspired by the real life story of a struggling footballer and his mentor-talent spotter in maidan, soccer stars Alvito D Cunha, Dipendu Biswas and Dipankar Roy have acted in the film.

Happy Ending singer Arijit Singh, having rendered two duets in the flick "Kichhu kichhu katha" (with classical vocalist) Kaushiki Chakroborty) and 'Amar Jibon' (with friend-guide) Indradeep Dasgupta, said Lorai was a hardcore sports film and he felt closer to the subject being a sports freak.

"We had all wanted the combo of Arijit, Kaushiki, Papon, Indradeep in the film and the tracks have the earthy melodious feel of a film like Lorai," a spokseperson of Asha Audio said.
