Indian football team for Bangladesh friendly named

Chief coach of the national football team Wim Koevermans today announced a squad of 20 players for an international friendly match against Bangladesh to be held here on March 5.

The friendly at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda will be preceded by a preparatory camp.

While Pune FC goalkeeper Amrinder Singh and Churchill Brothers striker Balwant Singh got their maiden call-up in the camp, No 1 'keeper Subrata Paul, Mumbai FC defender Sandesh Jhingan and Alwyn George of Dempo SC have made a comeback to the team.

The squad will assemble in Goa on March 1, while players like Amrinder Singh, Gurjinder Kumar, Sandesh Jhingan, Arnab Mondal, Mehtab Hossain, Lalrindika Ralte and Aibhorlang Khongjee would be joining the team on March 2 due to their I-League commitments.
 

The 20-member squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Karanjit Singh (Salgaocar SC), Amrinder Singh (Pune FC), Subrata Paul (FC Vestsjaelland).

Defenders: Denzil Franco (Churchill Brothers), Arnab Mondal (East Bengal), Aibhorlang Khongjee (Mohun Bagan), Sandesh Jhingan (Mumbai FC), Gurjinder Kumar (Pune FC), Narayan Das (Dempo SC).

Midfielders: Mehtab Hossain, Lalrindika Ralte (both East Bengal), Lenny Rodrigues (Churchill Brothers), Rocus Lamare (Salgaocar), Alwyn George, Clifford Miranda (both Dempo), Francis Fernandes (Salgaocar), Victorino Fernandes (Sporting Clube de Goa).

Forwards: Sunil Chhetri, Robin Singh (both Bengaluru FC) and Balwant Singh (Churchill Brothers).
