Indian found murdered in Saudi Arabia

An Indian national in Saudi Arabia has been allegedly murdered over a financial dispute, a media report said today.

Haneef Muhammad, 62, a mechanical engineer from Kerala, was found charred to death on the terrace of a residential building in Jeddah's Sharafiyah district.

Police said he was apparently murdered over a financial dispute on February 18 and have apprehended some suspects.

Muhammad had served as member of the executive committee of the International Indian School Parents Forum.

Hailing from Mainagappalli in the southern Kerala district of Kollam, Muhammad was in Jeddah for about 30 years, Saudi Gazette reported today.

Muhammad's sister, who is working at a clinic in the city, and other relatives have identified the body. They said the body will be buried in Jeddah after completing the necessary procedures.
