Indian Hotels’ loss widens to Rs 9 cr

Tata group hospitality firm Indian Hotels Co on Wednesday reported widening of its standalone net loss to Rs 9 crore for theJune quarter.

The company had posted a net loss of Rs 4.8 crore in the same quarter previous financial year, Indian Hotels said. Net sales during the period under review stood at Rs 474.4 crore against Rs 446 crore in the year-ago period, up 6.4 per cent, it added.

In view of the seasonality of the sector, the financial results for the quarter are not indicative of the full year's expected performance, the company said.

The company's total expenses during the quarter were higher at Rs 455.54 crore as against Rs 441.1 crore in the corresponding period lat fiscal.
 

Shares of Indian Hotels Co Ltd today ended 1.40 per cent down at Rs 127 apiece on BSE.
