'Indian IT sector looking to expand business in UAE'

India is one of the top trading partners of the UAE and there is enormous potential to further enhance bilateral trade using India's IT prowess, a top executive said here.

Speaking at the 37th edition of the Gitex Technology Week yesterday, Prasad Garapati, Chairman of Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) said IT companies can play a key role in enhancing the trade volume between the two countries.

"Our IT expertise, products and solutions are known to the world, therefore, we can compete with anyone and win the business," Garapati said.

India's ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Singh Suri also visited the expo.
 

More than 50 IT companies are showcasing their state-of- the-art products and cutting-edge solutions at the Gitex," said D K Sareen, ESC executive director.

India is one of the top trading partners of the UAE, and there is enormous potential to enhance trade relations between both the countries, said Sareen.

The UAE is the top destination for India's electronics export in the Middle East, with electronics goods and software exports estimated at USD 911 million and USD 2.43 billion respectively.
