Indian Junior Open Squash C'ship from tomorrow

Kush Kumar, the Nanjing Asian Youth Games gold medallist, will be looking to complete a hat-trick of titles when the fifth Indian Junior Open Squash championship commences here tomorrow.

Kumar, the Indian Squash Academy trainee, has been given the top billing in the boys' under-19 section while Delhi's Sachika Ingale is seeded to meet Urwashi Joshi from Mumbai in the girls' U-19 final.

The five-day long championship will see the participation of over 400 squash players from India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, USA, Nepal and Canada.

The tournament is sanctioned by the Asian Squash Federation as a Gold event and is also a part of the World Junior Circuit and an SRFI Four Star event.
 

The other star attraction will be boys' under-13 Asian junior champion Mohd Hafiz Zhafri from Malaysia.
