Indian karate team picking up technique easily: Coach

Karate Coach from World Karate Association, Antonio Oliva Seba, today said Indian kartekas were easily picking up techniques.

Antonio was training 73 Karatekas of Indian team for the last one month at Kumaraguru College of Technology here.

"I have taught the skills to the students the importance of timing and how to utilise it effectively.They picked up techniques fast in the camp...," Antonio, hailing from Spain, said at the valedictory function of the camp.

Initially at the camp, he had remarked the students were very weak in defense and had to improve a lot to be on par with International standards.
 

Expressing confidence that Indian team will emerge champions in the coming International events, Karate Association of India General Secretary Bharat Sharma said the team was poised to bag large number of medals in coming games wordwide.

The Asian Championship is to be held in Tokyo in September and the World Karate Championships in Jakarta in November.
