Indian leopard strays into Pakistan, killed by villagers

An Indian leopard that crossed into Pakistan territory was shot dead by some villagers after it severely injured two people near the International border.

The injured have been admitted to Sheikhura district headquarters hospital where their condition is stated to be critical.

According to the reports, the big cat yesterday crossed into the other side of the border at Taran and attacked the villagers, creating panic in the border area village.

However, the villagers instead of calling the wildlife department, shot the animal dead after it critically injured two people at Ferozewala border area, some 60 kilometres from this eastern city.
 

Last month, Pakistan wildlife authorities had captured an Indian leopard from near the international border in central Punjab province after it entered their territory near Pasrur in Narowal sector.
