Indian man arrested with 4 kg gold from airport in Kathmandu

Nepal police today arrested an Indian national with four kg of gold from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu.

The accused has been identified as 57-year-old Ram Niwas Barma of India. He was arriving from Sarjaha, UAE to Kathmandu on the way to India.

According to the police, TIA security personnel nabbed him with gold bars during a security check. He had hidden the gold bars in his body and did not possess valid documents for carrying the yellow metal.

The accused has been taken into custody and the police is taking the necessary action against him.
