Indian men and women crash out of Asian Canoe Polo Ch'ship

Indian men and women lost all their matches on the second day of the 15th Asian Canoe Polo Championship here today.

The Indian men lost to Malaysia (2:34), Taipei (0:50), Japan (0:15) and Iran (0:9) while their women counterpart were beaten 0:39 by Singapore.

The semifinals and finals of championships being held in India for the first time in India will take place tomorrow.

Around 150 athletes from six countries were participating in the tournament being held at the S P Mukherjee Swimming Pool Complex here.

Japan, Iran, Taipei, Singapore and Malaysia, besides India are taking part in the Championship.
 

Canoe Polo -- called Kayak Polo in some countries -- is a competitive ball sport played on water, in a defined field, between two teams of five players each, in a kayak.
