Indian, Nigerian armies to co-operate on counter-terrorism

Armies of India and Nigeria would co-operate with each other in the areas of training of cadets and counter-terrorism, as the oil-rich African nation is struggling to overcome insurgency in its northern region.

Nigerian Army chief Lt-Gen Azubuike Ihejirika told visiting Vice-Chief of Indian Army Staff Lt Gen Krishna Singh that the collaboration would bring to fruition the decisions reached by both countries' armies to collaborate, particularly in the area of training.
