Renowned music band Indian Ocean and famous Bollywood singer Zubeen Garg are the highlights of the concluding day of a three-day cultural festival showcasing various elements of different tribes of Assam.

The extravaganza 'Rongali - Celebrating the essence of Assam' is being organised from April 3-5 with an aim to position the state as a tourism destination by showcasing its ethnic culture and natural beauty.

On the concluding night, Indian Ocean will perform with some of their very popular songs such as 'Kandisa', 'Ma Rewa' and 'Hille Le'.

It will be followed by the closing performance of Bollywood singer and popular Assamese young artiste Zubeen Gard, who sang some of his famous numbers.

The festival attempted to exhibit the essence of the state, including its cultural history, icons, handloom, music, dance, magic, handicrafts, food and the age-old harmony of various tribes and communities.

A round table discussion in association with Gauhati University was organised on 'Development Agenda of Assam', where around 25 personalities from various fields such as economy, politics, sports, culture, academics, business and media deliberated.

Commenting on the event, 'Rongali' Chief Organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta said, "Our aim is to showcase Assam, thereby attract tourism and investment to the state, and also spread positivity about Assam globally."

'Rongali' is organised by NGO Assam Trend MMS in association with Hotel & Restaurants Association of Assam, Assam Tourism, Department of Cultural Affairs of Government of Assam and Ministry of Youth Affairs of Government of India.
