Indian Oil Corporation employee commits suicide

An accounts officer of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) allegedly committed suicide today by jumping from the sixth floor of the office building in south Delhi, police said.

52-year-old Tikam Shivan, a resident of Vikaspuri in west Delhi jumped from the sixth floor of the multi-storey IOC building in Hauz Khas area around 3:30 pm. He was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma Centre where he was declared brought dead, police said.

According to them, a suicide note was recovered in which Shivan alleged harassment by a senior colleague at his workplace, forced him to take this extreme step.
 

The body has been sent for postmortem. Police is verifying the credibility of the note, which they claim to be "very vague.
