An Indian youth is facing trial in a Dubai court for allegedly giving a bribe to a Pakistani instructor at a driving school for a licence.

The 24-year-old Indian, identified only with initials CH, allegedly paid USD 136 to the instructor to manipulate the number of driving tests taken by him so that he could get a licence earlier.

A UAE citizen saw the Indian giving bribe to the instructor in a car park opposite a police station in Nad Al Sheba and informed the police, Emirates 24/7 news reported.

The Pakistani driving instructor confessed to police that he had taken the bribe to manipulate the number of lessons taken by the licence seeker.

Dubai Criminal Court adjourned the case against the two accused to September 30 for the next hearing.
