Press Trust of India Kuala Lumpur
An Indian-origin barber was shot dead by two gunmen on a motorcycle at a suburb here in what police believe could be a case of mistaken identity.

The victim, R Karikaalan, 29, was hit at least twice while his 60-year-old mother, who was in the car with him, sustained minor injuries in the incident yesterday morning at Taman Billion.

The victim and his mother were driving from their home to the barber shop.

One of the gunmen was believed to have fired between eight and 10 shots at Karikaalan, who slumped in the driver's seat.

The gunmen then sped away.

Police are probing the incident and think it could be a case of mistaken identity.

They are also probing if it was a case of revenge or business rivalry.
