A convenience store owned by an Indian-origin couple has been robbed by a hooded gunman in the US state of North Carolina, prompting police to launch a manhunt.
Baki Patel runs Jacob's Food Mart in Gastonia with her husband, Sanjay Patel. She was working alone at 8:50 pm on Wednesday when a man entered the store armed with a handgun.
The man demanded all the money they had in the drawer, Sanjay said, even money from a bottom drawer most customers don't know about, Gaston Gazette reported.

The man left with more than USD 1,300 in cash, police.
Police said are looking for the gunman.
"It's upsetting," Sanjay said. "Very scary".
The black male wore a blue T-shirt and had a bandana covering most of his face.
