Indian origin woman accused of aiding man to flee with cash

An Indian-origin woman has been accused of aiding a man for absconding with 5 lakh dirhams after claiming to be a cancer patient, a news report has said.

The 41-year-old woman identified by just her initials P G, has been accused of aiding the Indian-origin man who reportedly forged 15 purchasing receipts to raise Dh 500,000 (Rs 73 Lakhs) from his company that organised nightlife events and fled country in 2010 claiming that he was suffering from cancer, the Gulf News reported.

Meanwhile she pleaded not to be guilty when she appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday, said the report.
 

According to the charge sheet the 44-year-old suspect committed the crime between 2007 and 2010 while working as the marketing manager of the company. He submitted two forged receipts in which he claimed that he held a business deal with another company. It was later discovered that that company did not exist.
