An Indian power consultancy firm has offered its services to the Pakistan government for the generation of cheap electricity at a time when the country is grappling with a massive energy crisis, according to a media report today.
Delhi-based Desein Private Ltd has submitted several proposals through its Pakistani associate, Meshe International, to the Water and Power Ministry.
The Indian firm has proposed the setting up of power plants that will use local coal or lignite, the Business Recorder daily quoted its sources as saying.

The firm currently provides services to half a dozen clients, including captive power plants in India and one plant in the United Arab Emirates.
It is also interested in extending services to Pakistan for establishing an ash handling plant.
Desein said in its proposal that the largest power plant it had completed was a 8x500 MW installation of Tata Power Co and that it is currently executing a 2x250 MW lignite-based plant in India's Gujarat state.
Pakistan's new Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that tackling the energy crisis will be among the top priorities of his government.
During talks with the previous Pakistan People's Party- led government, India had offered to export 500 MW of power.
Despite several rounds of talks, no headway was made on the proposal.
