Switching roles a popular RJ of a premier FM channel has teamed up with a young Bangladeshi singing star marking a musical journey between Dhaka-Kolkata.

"Bhalobashbi Re Tui" is a unheard of attempt between two contemporary youth icons in two countries, people who are aped and looked up to by the Generation Next in two nations, sharing the same language, culture and food," Cactus frontman and popular music director Sidhu told PTI here.

"Bhalobashbi Re Tui" is evocatively named with lyrics penned by the gifted RJ-emcee-newspaper columnist Roopsha Dasgupta and rendered by internationally known contemporary Bangladeshi singer Ahmed Razeev with a team of sound recordists from both sides of the border recreating the soundscape.

Poet-lyricist-singer Joy Sarkar said, "It is a new concept, we all love and keenly follow the albums of Bangladeshi singers. Happy to see such a project which will aesthetically connect present network savvy generations."

"I feel like a river reaching out to my ancestral roots in Bangladesh and finding out my brother amd together we make a musical odyssey," Roopsha said about the album brought out by Asha Audio.
