Indian shot dead in southern Nepal

A 32-year-old Indian was shot dead today by an unidentified gunman in Nepal's southern Dhanusha district.

Subash Goit hailing from Khajauli, Madhubani district of Bihar received a bullet in his chest and died on his way to Janakpur Zonal Hospital.

He was attacked by the gunman, who opened fire at him at around 11 am.

Goit had arrived at his sister's house in Dandi for "Raksha Bandhan" festival on Sunday. He was riding a motorcycle bearing Indian registration number when he was shot at.

The reason behind the killing is not yet known.

Superintendent of Police Uttam Raj Subedi said that Goit received one bullet in his chest.
 

After the murder, the killer ran away with the motorcycle, said Subedi.

The police have been mobilised in the district to nab the killer.
