Over 500 scientists and researchers from Indian Council of Agricultural Research institutes, state agricultural universities, farmers and Gos would participate in the 78th annual convention of the Indian Society of Soil Science (ISSS) to be held here from October 23 to 26.
The Jodhpur chapter of ISSS is organising the convention this year to be held at Central Arid Zone Research Institute.
A symposium on "Agro-Ecozone Based Land Use Planning" and a seminar, "Developments in Soil Science, 2013" will be held during the convention, said Dipankar Saha, chairman of Media and Publicity Committee of ISSS.
Saha said the event would provide the participants an opportunity to interact with nationally and internationally placed scholars, specialists and researchers.
