Indian swimmers continued to struggle at the Asian Games with Sajan Prakash and Saurabh Sangvekar finishing fourth and seventh respectively in their men's 400 metre freestyle heats and Anshul Kothari ending at the sixth spot in the 50m freestyle heat here today.

Prakash clocked 3:59.27 in heat 2 to finish 7.03 seconds behind Japan's Kosuke Hagino, who finished on top. His fourth place finish meant that Prakash has been kept as second reserve swimmer for the finals.

He will compete in the finals if two of the qualified swimmers pull out.

24-year-old Kothari came up with a timing of 23.94 seconds in heat 4, which was topped by Japan's Kenta Ito with a timing of 22.64 seconds.

Saurabh produced a timing of 3:59.66 in heat 3 at the Munhak Park Tae-hwan Aquatics Center here. He was 8.49 seconds adrift of Yang Sun of China.
