The botched up operation was used by former Army chief Gen V K Singh as the basis to issue a show cause notice to the then 3 Corps Commander Lt Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag and put him under a discipline and vigilance ban.
The present Army chief had revoked the decision soon after taking over and cleared the way for Suhag to take over as the Eastern Army Commander.
The Guwahati High Court is hearing the case on a complaint of the contractor. A cell phone and a 7.65 mm pistol was also allegedly stolen during the operation.
