Indo-Canadian director's film wins at Canadian Film Festival

The documentary, which has earlier won Tribeca's best feature documentary prize, also earned a cash prise of USD 10,000 at the festival, said The Hollywood Reporter.

A special jury prize for Canadian features went to Charles Wilkinson's "Peace Out", a film about resource extraction in western Canada and its impact on the local environment.

Hot Docs' best international feature prize went to "Call Me Kuchu", by directors Malika Zouhali-Worrall and Katherine Fairfax Wright, an American film about Ugandan activist David Kato's efforts to fight his country's anti-homosexuality bill.

The special jury prize for an international feature went to the Israeli film "The Law in These Parts".
