The military-to-military ties between India and the US are on a good track, the Pentagon said today.
"We have been working on our military to military relationship with the government of India for some time. We believe that our military-to-military relationship is on a good track," Pentagon spokesperson Steve Warren told reporters during an off-camera news conference.
US Deputy Defence Secretary Ash Carter has made several trips to India, he said, referring to what is now being called as the 'Carter-Menon' initiative, which resulted in the US going out of its way to provide India access to technologies that are being given to only to its closest allies.
However, Warren refused to make any comment on the arrest of Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade, in New York on December 12 on charges of visa fraud and misrepresentation.
