Marking collaboration between India and the US, the three-day-long workshop on nano- engineering in medicine concluded today at the AIIMS here, which featured talks on state-of-the-art techniques being used in the filed.
Organised by the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum, the workshop was attended by 24 medical scientists from India and the US and witnessed participation from over 100 different experts and Phd students from across the country.
"Developing the application and enhancing the efficiency of nano-materials were the main objectives of the workshop. Apart from that, lectures and panel discussions were also held to highlight the state-of-the-art techniques being developed in the field of nano-engineering in medicine," said, Amit Kumar Pinda, organising chairperson of the workshop.

Outlining the immense requirement of nano-technology in the field of vaccine development, targeted cancer therapy and photo-dynamic therapy, organisers felt that if this technology is developed upto the market level, this would change the entire medical world.
