With this view, Indonesian Ambassador Lt Gen (retd) Andi M Ghalib began his two-day visit to the desert state with the meeting with state governor Margaret Alvi today.

"The bilateral trade between the two countries is expected to reach 45 billion US Dollar by 2015 from 10 billion US Dollar in 2010, but this requires good cooperation and frequent interactions", Ghalib said talking to PTI.

Initially, both countries had set a trade target of 25 billion USD by 2015.

"The bilateral trade between the two nations has already crossed the 20 billion USD mark, therefore, in a meeting between Minister of both countries at Jakarta in March this year, the decision was taken to revise the target to 45 billion USD by 2015", he added.

"Rajasthan is a state with huge potential and we are exploring possibilities of tie ups in various sectors with infrastructure, education and IT being a few of them.

Rajasthan is a very good tourist destination, rich in culture and heritage values besides having potential in other areas also", Ghalib said.

He emphasised that there was a need to promote tourism of Rajasthan in Indonesia and Indonesian tourism in Rajasthan.

"Indonesia is not only about Bali or Sumatra, there are many more tourist destinations in the country", he said.

Similarly, Rajasthan is a good tourist destination but little known among Indonesian people, so the situation needs to be changed with mutual cooperation and efforts", he said.

The Ambassador said that solar energy, infrastructure development and education could be other areas of cooperation between Rajasthan and Indonesia.

"I will be meeting with industry bodies here to discuss possibilities of trade relations. They will also be invited to the trade exhibition
