Union Minister Jitin Prasada today ridiculed the Samajwadi Party for inducting the close kin of scam-tainted former BSP minister Babu Singh Kushwaha into the party fold, saying that the outfit had displayed "double standards" by the move.

"I have always said that SP keeps double standards, whether on corruption or law and order or corrupt persons," Jitin, the minister for State for Human Resource and Development, told reporters here.

"They (SP leaders) talked differently before assembly polls but after coming to power, they brought in those tainted leaders into their own party, whom they opposed and even condemned earlier," he said.

The minister today arrived here along with district magistrate Manisha Trighatua and chief development minister Surendra Vikram Singh and reviewed various development works which he had proposed from his local area development funds.

The union minister got irked when he came to know a large number of proposed works were pending for completion.

"Even after one or more than one year of proposal, the works are left only in files, which is irritating," he told the officials and stressed upon timely completion of works.
