"To give boost of industrialisation to the Kandi region, the government has planned industrial cluster, for which land bank was being created," Badal said.
The industrial cluster would be connected with rest of Punjab by expressway, he said.
Talking to media-persons after inaugurating Rs 5.5 crore 66 KVA sub-station at Maula Wahid here, Badal said, "The SAD-BJP government was committed for balanced development of the state and has decided to give a booster dose for the development of Kandi area."
Punjab Pradesh Congress secretary R S Pathania joined Shiromani Akali Dal at the occasion.
Criticising Congress-led UPA government for allegedly interfering into the religious affairs of the Sikhs and colluding with Sarna brothers to delay elections to Delhi Sikh Gurdwara elections, Badal alleged that amendment in Gurdwara Act proposed by Sheila Dikshit government was against the basic spirit of Constitution as delaying elections beyond five year term was anti-democratic.
"Fearing that the drubbing of Sarna group in the DSGMC polls would have a direct impact on Delhi Assembly polls the Delhi government has proposed to amend the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Act, 1971," he said.
