Mentha oil rose 0.68 per cent to Rs 1,019 per kg in futures trade today tracking a firm trend at the spot market.

Besides, tight stocks in the physical market following restricted arrivals from producing regions supported the upside.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August gained Rs 6.90, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 1,019 per kg in a business turnover of 242 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in July rose by Rs 6.80, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 1,001.10 per kg in 558 lots.

Market analysts said the rise in mentha oil at futures trade was mainly due to a firming trend at spot market on strong demand from consuming industries amidst restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
