Castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial prices gained in an otherwise listless oils and oilseeds market here today on good demand from shippers and soap industries.
Meanwhile, groundnut oil, refined palmolein and linseed oil prices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying.
In the futures market, castorseeds firmed up further on sustained speculative buying on the back of higher export enquiries.
In the non-edible section, Castorseeds bold climbed by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 3,600 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,575 and castoroil commercial moved up by Rs 5 per 10kg to Rs 750 from Rs 745. Linseed oil closing unchanged at Rs 790 per 10 kg.
Turning to futures, castorseeds June contract resumed slightly lower at Rs 3,860, and rose further to close at Rs 3,900 from Rs 3,861 previously, showing a gain of Rs 39 per tonne.
Moving to edible section, groundnutoil and refined palmolein prices closed unaltered at Rs 1,210 per 10 kg and Rs 507 per 10 kg, respectively.
