Industrial oils surge on rising demand

In futures, castorseeds also climbed due to heavy speculative demand on the back of consistent export inquiries.

Meanwhile, groundnutoil, refined palmolein and linseedoil all held steady in the absence of any buying activity.

In the non-edible segment, castorseeds bold advanced by Rs 25 per 100kg to Rs 3,625 from Friday's closing level of Rs 3,600 and castoroil commercial gained by Rs 5 to Rs 755 per 10 kg from Rs 750. Linseedoil ruled stable at Rs 830 per 10 kg.

Turning to futures, castorseeds for the March contract opened slightly higher at Rs 3,790 and later moved-up further to Rs 3,848 before finishing at Rs 3,843 as against Rs 3,785 yesterday, showing a net gain of Rs 58 per tonne.

 

However, moving to edible segment, both groundnutoil and refined palmolein closed unchanged at Rs 1,290 and Rs 505 per 10 kg, respectively.
