Himachal Pradesh Industries and Public Relations minister Mukesh Agnihotri today called for rapid industrialisation of the state and said that it was key to economic empowerment and employment.
"The state government was giving various incentives and strengthening the basic infrastrucre in industrial areas to attract industry and Rs 100 crore had been earmarked for infrastructure development in Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) industrial area," he said while addressing a gathering at Baddi University of Engineering Sciences and Technology.
He said that the BBN was among the best industrial areas and 80 per cent industries of the state were based in this area and efforts were on to connect it with railway line while a helipad had also been constructed here.

The BBN industrial area has carved out a niche for itself in pharmaceutical production and 35 per cent medicines of Asia were being produced here and exhorted the entrepreneurs to abide by strict quality norms and standards.
Agnihotri inaugurated Li-Fi based radio broadcast for the university campus, launched research Journals of School of Management and School of Pharmacy and awarded scholarships to female students from economically weaker sections of the society under 'Betiyon ki Bari' programme of the university.
