Saying that Maharashtra needed another Indian Institute of Technology, industrialist and Shiv Sena MP in Rajya Sabha, Rajkumar Dhoot, has said that his party would strive to bring the prestigious institute to Aurangabad in Marathwada region after the coming elections.

"It will be our endeavour to bring the IIT to Aurangabad. Aurangabad is a fastest growing city and has all the necessary infrastructure. There is a need for a second IIT after the one in Mumbai," Dhoot said here over the week-end.

There was enough land at Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University for the IIT, he said.

"The IIT campus can be set up in the university itself as there is a lot of land," Dhoot said.

Expressing disappointment over the big projects getting stalled due to protests, he said more industries should come to Maharashtra and there should be more investment.
