A panchayat member from Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district, who owns a factory here, today received an extortion call for Rs 1.5 crore, the police said.
Bilal has lodged a complaint with the Kasna police station.
The police said that his call details are being scanned and the number from which the extortion call was made is being traced.
The matter is being investigated, they said.
