A court here today turned down industrialist Mahimananda Mishra's fresh bail application in the 2013 Cuttack bomb blast case.

SDJM court judge Bijay Kumar Das rejected the application of Mishra, charged by Cuttack police under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common intention) of IPC.

He is in judicial custody for over now nine months now.

Mishra was arrested in a murder case by the Paradeep police last December and was also taken into custody by the Cuttack police for his alleged involvement in the 2013 Madhupatna Chhak bomb blast in which two persons, including an advocate, were injured.

Although, Mishra had been granted bail by the Orissa High Court in the Paradeep murder case, he is unable to get the relief in the bomb blast case as it was rejected by the high court.

However, after the recent submission of police charge sheet against him in the bomb blast case, he made a fresh bid to get bail.
