Industry leaders to attend 'Advantage Vidarbha' tomorrow

Top industry leaders, including Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry and Raymond Group's Gautam Hari Singhania, will attend the two-day 'Advantage Vidarbha' conference beginning here from tomorrow.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithiviraj Chavan will inaugurate the opening session, while Union Minister for Heavy Industries Praful Patel will preside over the function, Nagpur Guardian Minister Shivajirao Moghe said.
State Industries Minister Narayan Rane and some other ministers will also grace the occasion.
Moghe is hopeful that the event would make a good beginning towards investments and the much-awaited economic development of the Vidarbha region.
MoUs worth around Rs 15,000 crore are expected to be signed during the two-day event.
 
Jindal Group Vice-Chairman and MD Sajjan Jindal, Indo Rama CMD O P Lohia will be present for the inaugural session, while Adani Group's Gautam Adani and Confederation of Indian Industries west zone Chairman and noted industrialist Adi Godrej are also likely to attend the conference, Moghe, the state social justice minister, said.
Maruti CMD R C Bhargava and BHEL CMD D Prasad Rao have confirmed their participation.
The event will focus on sectors like textiles, agriculture and food processing, IT and biotechnology, automobiles and engineering, mining and mineral processing and tourism and aviation.
State Ficci Chairman Rashesh Shah, Mahindra and Mahindra's Vijay Kalra, Sugna Foods' G B Sunderajan, KEC International's Ramesh Chandak, Kotak Commodity Chairman Suresh Kotak and others have also confirmed their participation, Moghe said.
"Vidarbha has better geographical location in the country, and availability of land, electricity, quality manpower can all be used to best advantage," he added.
