The child, identified as Sachin, fell into the pit at the late evening hours at an area near Palam Vihar.

The pit was dug for some earthing work at the village.

The incident comes six days after rescuers pulled out four-year-old Mahi dead on June 24 from a 70-feet-deep borewell near Manesar where she was trapped for four days.

Besides a rescue team, fire, medical and police personnel have reached the spot.

Oxygen is being supplied through a pipe to the child, CMO Parveen Garg said.

CCTV camera has been lowered into the pit which showed the child was conscious, he said.
