People lacking an access to computers would no longer need to go to a government office to lodge complaint or redress grievances as they can do so online through information kiosks in Burdwan district of West Bengal, a top district official said today.
"People having no computer can lodge online complaints or get redressal of their grievances through the information kiosks set up in headquarters of all the 31 blocks, six sub-divisions, district headquarters and zilla parishad in Burdwan town," Burdwan District Magistrate Saumitra Mohan told PTI.
People can also log on to www.Bardhaman.Nic.In and do so, he said.

"Public reaction to the new facility so far has been very encouraging. We are trying to publicise this facility to the citizens using multi media methods," Mohan said.
Online and through information kiosk, grievance can be lodged related to Indira Awas Yojna, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), NSAP, NFBS, AABY, PROFLAL, statutory panchayat issues.
Pension related issues, Kanyashree, Caste Certificate, all issues related to voters and elections, issues related to motor vehicles, Sarva Siksha Mission, in connection with Minority development and issues in connection with ration card could be lodged through information kiosk, Mohan said.
The district magistrate said that for a subject which is not covered by any of the above, it could be lodged under the category 'others'.
