Shares of IT major Infosys rose over 3 per cent, adding Rs 8,131.68 crore to its market valuation today, ahead of its September quarter results to be announced on Monday.
The stock gained 3.13 per cent to settle at Rs 1,167.85 on BSE. During the day, it rose 3.54 per cent to Rs 1,172.60.
On NSE, shares of the company went up 3.11 per cent to Rs 1,167.40 at close.
Following the surge in the stock, the company's market valuation climbed Rs 8,131.68 crore to Rs 2,68,248.68 crore.
In terms of volume, 3.64 lakh shares of the company changed hands at BSE and over 58 lakh shares were traded at NSE during the day.
Infosys is scheduled to report its second quarter earnings on Monday.
In the stock market, the BSE Sensex rose by 233.70 points to end at 27,079.51.
