A BSF jawan who was injured in cross- border firing in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir has been airlifted to New Delhi for specialised treatment, a BSF officer said today.

Injured Head Constable Ram Niwas Meena has now been admitted in AIIMS, he said.

"A sniper had fired from the Pakistan-side of the international border near Narainpur in the afternoon yesterday," the officer said.

In the incident reported in the Ramgarh sector of Samba, around two rounds were fired from the Pakistan-side with the bullets hitting Meena. The jawan from the 200 Battalion was manning the border outpost at Narianpur, he added.
