After a week-long battle for life, the 16-year-old girl who had allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from a running train along with two others, passed away today following a cardiac arrest.
On July 13, Arya K Suresh had allegedly attempted suicide near Ottapalam. The other two girls, Athira and Raji, had died earlier.
Arya was undergoing treatment at Thrissur medical college hospital since the past one week. Her condition had improved and later worsened after she suffered a bout of pneumonia.

"By 3.30 PM Arya suffered cardiac arrest and doctors tried to save her life, but failed and she died by 4 PM", he said.
Her post-mortem is expected to be done tomorrow after inquest by police, he said.
The three school girls had gone missing from Konni in Pathnamthitta district since July 10. While Arya was found seriously injured on the railway track at Ottapalam, the bodies of two of her friends were recovered in between Mankara-Lakkidi railway stations near Ottapalam.
The girls had left home, saying they were going to school, but when they failed to return in the evening, a search was launched on a complaint by their parents.
