Injured owl rescued

An injured owl, found in a drain here, was rescued by a local man and later handed over to forest officials here today.

Govinda Roy, an employee of the Post Office, found the injured bird in the drain and picked it up for nursing its wounds.

Roy then contacted forest officials in the afternoon who received the bird from him and released it in the Gorumara forest, Jalpaiguri Divisional Forest Officer Sunita Ghatak said.
