The condition of Puri servitor, whose left leg was amputated last evening, is stated to be stable at SCB medical college and hospital here today.

Doctors treating 25-year-old Bhramarbar Bhoi here have indicated he would be kept under observation for a few days and steps would be taken to fit an artificial leg.

Bhramarbar suffered the injuries when his leg came under the wheels of Lord Jagannath's chariot Nandigosh in Puri last evening.

Sources said he was immediately rushed to Puri district headquarters hospital where the doctors were forced to amputate his leg fearing gangrene, as the bones were crushed.

When his condition deteriorated he was shifted to the Cuttack hospital late last evening. Meanwhile, the Lord Jagannath temple administration has announced they would bear the cost of his treatment.

Meanwhile, a report from Puri said that the chariots of Lord Jagannath and Devi Subhdra which were on the mid way yesterday, reached their destinations today. Only chariot of Lord Balabhadra had reached Sri Gundicha Temple yesterday.

Amidst heavy downpour, the devotees in lakhs, pulled Lord Jagannath's chariot-Nandighosh and Devi Subhadra's Darpadalan chariot till the Gundicha temple.

According to temple administration sources, the deities would be taken into Gundicha temple tomorrow in a procession.
