Inmate abducted from govt-run destitute girls home

A teenager was allegedly abducted from a government-run home for destitute girls at Alawalpur village near Dharuher here.

Following a complaint filed by Sujata, Assistant Superintendent of 'Asha Kiran', a state-run home for destitute girls, police registered a case of abduction of an 18-year-old inmate against unknown persons.

The teenager, who was found at the railway station here on June 1, was later sent to Asha Kiran from where she went missing under mysterious circumstances on June 5.

During her four day stay, the girl told the shelter home authorities that she belonged to Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh.

Police said that earlier on June 7, Sujata had filed a report on which they had registered a case regarding the girl's disappearance.
 

It is yet to be probed that why Sujata filed a complaint against last evening alleging unidentified persons of abducting the girl, they said.

Twenty-four destitute girls are presently staying in Asha Kiran.
