The Women and Child Development Department will get the tests conducted by Haryana AIDS Control Society at all the shelter homes being run by the state government and NGOs so that the affected inmates, if any, be provided prescribed treatment, the department's director general, Sumita Misra, said here today.

The department along with State Aids control Society would also organise trainings at district level to sensitise the officials of the Department on the issue of HIV and AIDS and services provided by the Society.

Seventeen women shelter homes are being run in the State where about 582 women along with their children and single women reside, she said.

Such homes provide basic facilities like food shelter, education and vocational training to the inmates. In these homes, abandoned, destitute, victims of domestic violence, women with mental disorder, deserted and orphan women are given shelter.
